Financial services firm XL Group has appointed Six Sigma Black Belt Fielding L. Norton III as senior vice president, deputy chief enterprise risk officer.
Norton will provide risk management oversight at the Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance company and will apply techniques to enhance internal controls that manage the effects of risk on XL’s capital, earnings and credit ratings. Prior to joining XL, Norton presided over risk management services at Ironshore Inc. in Bermuda and at Swiss Re in Kansas, USA.
Norton holds bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Kansas, along with a master of science degree in applied physics and a Ph.D in earth and planetary sciences from Harvard University. He earned his Black Belt from the Executive Band Plus Program at GE.
