Salem, NH – February 9, 2004 – GOAL/QPC (Growth Opportunity Alliance of Greater Lawrence) today announced the publication of The Design for Six Sigma Memory Joggerâ„¢. This book provides step-by-step guidance on how to use the Six Sigma DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, and Verify) methodology to design products, services, and processes that reliably meet customers’ and stakeholders’ requirements.

The Design for Six Sigma Memory Joggerâ„¢ is the third in GOAL/QPC’s series of pocket guides about Six Sigma. The book is written so employees at all organizational levels can quickly understand their roles in design projects and learn how to apply the tools and methods for performing all the major steps and sub-steps of a design project.

Bob Page, GOAL/QPC’s product development director, said, “Our early research for this book suggested that customers expected three things. First, they wanted a clear road map that would enable permanent and temporary team members to see how their work fit in and contributed to the overall project. Second, they wanted a book that was rich in content but allowed the reader to quickly grasp the essential information and begin working with a project’s Master Black Belt/Black Belt. Finally, they wanted the book to be both a learning aid and a real-time performance-support resource.”

Six Sigma expert practitioners from several leading companies served as reviewers to ensure that The Design for Six Sigma Memory Joggerâ„¢ met their needs. Principal authors Dana Ginn, of Oriel Inc., and Evelyn Varner, of Vital Statistics Inc., relied on their consulting experience to ensure that the book emphasized key points and included helpful tips.

“The development of this book was truly a team effort,” Page continued. “Our editor, Dan Picard, and graphic designer, Michele Kierstead, put the finishing touches on the content, and the result, we believe, is another welcome addition to the Six Sigma Memory Joggerâ„¢ series.” Other titles in the series include The Black Belt Memory Joggerâ„¢ and The Six Sigma Memory Joggerâ„¢ II.

With over 10 million copies sold, the Memory Joggerâ„¢ is the most widely recognized and respected brand of training and reference books on quality management and organizational effectiveness.

Located in Salem, New Hampshire, GOAL/QPC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational institution that researches, publishes, and provides training on tools and methods for organizational excellence.
